So you're in the middle of fixing up that old Victorian-era house that you just bought, only to discover that some of the windows don't work correctly or need replacement. Most of these early homes have horizontal double-hung or vertical sliding sash windows. Modern window manufacturers try to replicate this look with the addition of muntins -- wood or metal decorative frames inside or outside the dual- or tripled-paned glass.
